The CDC and Illinois Public Health Department are reporting that the COVID-19 positivity rate is rapidly growing. Additionally, the chances for exposure have increased with the recent holidays and the gatherings of family and friends.
Yesterday, it was announced that after much consideration and collaboration with the Northwest DuPage Athletic Conference (NWDAC), the conference School Districts jointly decided to suspend all extracurricular activities district-wide through January 17th. This is due to the increased positivity rate of COVID cases in DuPage County and locally.
The safety and well-being of our patrons and staff continues to be our top priority. Therefore, the Wood Dale Park District has decided to be cautious by limiting exposures to both our patrons and staff so that we can continue to serve and operate effectively.
It is for these reasons the Wood Dale Park District has decided to temporarily suspend the following programs through Monday, January 17th:
- Youth Basketball Open Gym
- Pickleball Open Gym
- Fitness Member Open Gym
- WIBA (Youth Basketball League)
All other programs will continue as scheduled.
The Wood Dale Park District will continue to monitor developments closely and will update our plans for resuming the suspended programs on our website at www.wdparks.org.
